In 1945, Rolex presented its very first automatic chronometer wristwatch, which displayed the date on an aperture on the dial. The model, produced to celebrate the brand's 40th anniversary, was to become one of Rolex's most legendary models of all time. Because of its resemblance to an egg, this watch is now nicknamed the "Ovettone". Over time, the reference 4467 became a cult favourite among collectors and represents a milestone in Rolex history.
