Die Erfolgsgeschichte von IWC begann 1868, als sich der amerikanische Ingenieur Florentine Aristo Jones in Schaffhausen in der Schweiz niederließ. Gemeinsam mit seinem Geschäftspartner, Johann Heinrich Moser, der ein System zur industriellen Nutzung der Wasserkraft des Rheins erfand, begannen sie mit der maschinengestützten Produktion von Uhren. For a brief moment, I seriously considered starting this short article with a scientific treatise on the production of carbon fibers.
